Sandals Resorts’
flagship property, Sandals Montego Bay,
recently unveiled 59 newly refurbished rooms and suites, named
the “Bay Roc Estate Beachfront Villa Suites,” to deliver a new
level of luxury to the resort and more importantly, a feel for
the glamour and glitz of bygone days.
It
was at the height of glamorous travel in the 1950s that many
well-heeled couples flocked to Jamaica’s coastline to soak up
the sun and enjoy evenings of cocktails and conversation. The
Bay Roc, one of the leading hotels in Montego Bay at the time,
welcomed the jet-set crowd with its 66 spacious rooms and 30
privately owned cottages. However, following a lull in travel
felt worldwide in the decades that followed, the Bay Roc nearly
retreated into extinction. It wasn’t until 1981 when Gordon
“Butch” Stewart, founder and chairman of Sandals and Beaches
Resorts, recognized the hotel’s exponential potential and
purchased it to launch Sandals Montego Bay, the first of what
was to become an empire of all-inclusive resorts across the
Caribbean.
Following major investments and upgrades,
Sandals Montego Bay exploded onto the scene, becoming one of the
most successful resort properties in the chain. In addition to
delivering a superior standard of service and amenities, Stewart
also recognized the importance of embracing the property’s
history and old-time glamour. And so, the new collection of
rooms and suites, appropriately named the “Bay Roc Estate
Beachfront Villa Suites,” located in the former privately owned
cottages of the Bay Roc hotel, were refurbished to include
new-age amenities but exude an old-time charm.

Bay Roc Ultra Luxury Honeymoon
Beachfront Villa - This room category is secluded and
located on the ground floor with garden view patio. These rooms
feature a four-poster canopy mahogany king size bed,
CD
player, either a Jacuzzi bathtub or ceramic bathtub, stocked
mini bar and beautiful framed artwork.
Bay Roc
Villa Honeymoon Beachfront Veranda Jr. Suite - These
junior suites are located on either the ground or upper floor
next to the swim up pool bar with mahogany door electronic lock
system. These extraordinarily large rooms feature mahogany
furniture with a king size four-poster bed, two side tables with
antique lamps, writing desk & chair, armoire with drawers,
electronic safe box, his & her facial sink with mirrors,
beautiful framed artwork, either with a Jacuzzi bathtub & shower
in one, or a ceramic bathtub. They also have either a very large
balcony or patio overlooking the beach and ocean.
Bay Roc Villa Honeymoon Beachfront Suite -
These suites are located on the ground floor or upper level
directly on the beach, and share an extended patio overlooking
the beach & ocean. These extraordinarily large rooms feature
mahogany furniture with a king size four-poster bed, two side
tables with antique lamps, writing desk & chair, Armoire with
drawers, his & her facial sink with mirrors, beautiful framed
artwork, either with an oversize bathtub along with walk in
shower, or ceramic bathtub.
Bay Roc Villa Ultra
Luxury Honeymoon Beachfront One Bedroom Suite - These
suites are located directly on the beach, on the ground floor,
with an extended patio overlooking the beach and ocean. These
rooms are extraordinarily large with mahogany furniture and
French double doors separating the living room from the bedroom,
which features a king-size four-poster mahogany bed or king-size
bed. This Suite also includes a fully stocked mini bar, two wall
mounted bedside lamps, large screen television's, CD players.
Bay Roc Villa Honeymoon Grande Luxe Beachfront Suite
- These suites feature an imposing living room with the bedroom
incorporated into one area. The suites feature mahogany
furniture with two side tables with antique lamps, his and her
facial sinks, writing desk and chair, and beautiful framed
artwork. The suites either have a patio, balcony, or large bay
window, and feature views of the ocean, beach, and/or gardens.

Ultra Luxury
Beachfront Suites Of Bay Roc Villas - These four large
suites are located either on the upper level with a Balcony or
ground level with a patio, each with an ocean view on the
beachfront of cottage 9. Featuring an imposing living room with
the bedroom incorporated into one area, the suites feature
mahogany furniture with a king size four-poster canopy bed,
bedroom bench with additional storage, two side tables with
antique lamps, writing desk & chair, Armoire with drawers, 30"
plasma cable television, decorative wall lamps, electronic safe
box, his & her facial sink with mirrors, beautiful framed
artwork, & Plantation style shutters. There is a large Jacuzzi
bathtub plus a separate walk-in shower stall in each room.
Separate beachfront mahogany electronic entrance door, with an
additional mahogany framed glass door leading to the beachfront
patio. This villa was recently totally rebuilt.
Bay Roc Villas Presidential Beachfront One Bedroom Suite
- Four suites located on the first floors of cottages 6 and 7.
The suites feature large living rooms, separate bedrooms with
four-poster beds, marble baths, large patios and mahogany
furniture. Each suite includes two large screen plasma
television's, Butler Service, and VIP private airport transfers
to/from Montego Bay Airport included. They are directly on the
beach with views of the ocean and gardens.
Prime
Minister's Beachfront Suite At The Bay Roc Villas - Two
very large suites located on the second floor of cottages six
and eight. Both are directly on the beach, overlooking the Ocean
with a spacious living area and dining area. The suites feature
a luxurious grand bedroom with mahogany furniture and king size
four-poster bed. Each suite has two large screen plasma
television's, a stocked wet bar, Butler Service, and VIP
transfers to/from Montego Bay Airport included.
